Rejecting God's Call

Theme: Fulfilling the great commission October 2014
**Rejecting God's Call**
Brethren, we've heard over and over again that many are called but a few are chosen but then what goes into the calling of an individual? Now the question goes like this; Can anyone reject God's call into the higher ministry? Let's analyse the passage and scriptures below.
#The call of God may come upon your life as a result of covenants which you or your parents made in critical times of your birth or childhood. Such instances occur when we are in pain or trouble or at times near death experiences. Eg a woman in overdue labour could make such declarations and you'll be surprised to know that they are delivered from that particular situation as soon as they make such statements. Well being delivered from the problem means God has fulfilled his part of the contract! (1 Samuel 1:22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.)
#At times one may need another minister to guide you in realizing God's call upon your life.(1 Samuel 3:9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.)
#In God's calling, Age doesn't count but then its usually in your youthful days and transition into adulthood. That is when you have the strength and concentration to work diligently. (Jeremiah 1:4-7.. Jeremiah 1:4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. 1:6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 1:7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.)

#Gods call is neither based on societal status nor supremacy; everyone is eligible.(Luke 5:8-10, Matthew 9:9-13, calling of Matthew)

#Rejecting God's call will plunge you into calamity sooner or later.(Jonah 1-3)

#Apostle Paul wrote 18 out of 27 books in the new testament. Imagine the amount of Knowledge we would have been deprived of if he hadn't accepted God's call. Meaning the call upon your life will educate and open the eyes of many.

#God gives you sufficient Grace to handle the task ahead.(Jeremiah 1:9-10)

#From the day of accepting God's call you cease to be an ordinary person. You begin to speak with power and authority.( Acts 2:3-4,1st Corinthians 2:4)

#Preacher, never abuse God's power when you see things happening at your command. Remember your speech is now full of power therefore speak as the spirit directs(1 Corinthians 9:18)
