Youthful Exuberance.

                                    Overview of Temptation.

We are in a time where the challenge is being your self rather than what the world wants you to be. Pleasures of life have blinded man so much that sin seems so normal. But then we must know that the rules of Holy Bible which guides our path on this earth still remains the same. As christians and new believers, we have a task of maintaining purity both spiritually and in flesh. Well it is up to the individual to study the Word which delivers us from temptation. NB: JESUS replied satan with the Word when HE was tempted.

 1 John 2:16-17
Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
The verse says that anyone who thinks he stands should be very careful because temptation is a phenomenon that comes everyone’s way at some points in life. Frankly speaking, temptations can be escaped but most at times people are entangled in it. In fact the best way to deal with temptation is either to escape it or to endure it. Enduring temptation is not an easy task but then if only you have the HOLY SPIRIT (our helper & comforter) by your side there’s no way it will overcome you.
In Hebrews 2:18, it says that for because himself has suffered and been tempted, He is able to help those who are tempted. This is so because He has experienced the pain and suffering temptation so He is ready and able to help victims of temptation. My brethren, if our LORD JESUS was then who are we to walk freely and go on with our lives without temptation?
In 1 peter 5 verse 8, it says that be sober, be watchful meaning be alert, be aggressive be careful and also be careful and also be ready. Why does the BIBLE tell us this? We should be ready, alert and careful for what reason? The verse further says that our adversary “the devil” prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Actually, he is looking for someone who is neither alert nor careful to pounce on. How will he devour his victims? It’s only or mostly through temptations. The moment you are not able to overcome it he devours you by getting you addicted to the sinful act he tempted you with. Majority of his victims are the youth of our society. What do we see nowadays? All the nasty and well known social vices are being done and practiced by the youth. Right from drug abuse to shooting of porn videos but then I believe that with the comforter at work and our GOD being so merciful and loving they will be delivered in the mighty name of Jesus!!!
“For all that is in the world, lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the father is not of the father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. AMEN!!!
Finally, the big question is "Are you a victim of temptation?'', you should know your stand by now.
